Installation

This is where all our hard work pays off from the Planning phase. Subcontractors are scheduled in the proper sequence and materials are on hand. Now it’s time to get to work…

Preparation for Installation:

Our project leader will work with you to schedule the installation of your project.  They will notify you when we expect delivery so you can plan to have your old kitchen/bath removed and the space prepared with as little delay between the tear-out and the installation as possible.  Cleaning out all your personal items from the space no later than the day before ensures no delays in the start of the project.

Demolition:

Before we start any demolition, we will protect your home’s floor with heavy duty coverings and seal the areas off to contain dust. We strive to keep a clean work space and follow all safety guidelines. Turning off water and electricity to insure we eliminate the chance for flooding and hazards.

All debris will be taken out of the structure everyday into a provided dumpster or trailer and regularly scheduled pick is a priority.

Framing:

After demolition is complete, our expert carpenters will frame new walls, additions and any changes noted on the design drawings agreed upon.

Rough Plumbing and Electrical:

After demo has taken place we will have our electricians and plumbers do their rough in (moving outlets, switches, adding boxes and running wire). This will be followed by any inspections needed by the city if permitted. Inspections will be scheduled by the project manager and or subcontractor.

Drywall installation and Paint:

After we get approval to cover up the rough plumbing and electrical we will install drywall and apply finish tape and drywall compound. Our professional team will make sure to contain all dust from other areas of the house and clean up daily.

This process takes minimum 3 days for compound to dry and be sanded multiple times until we achieve a finish we can all be proud of. New drywall is primed before paint.

CGG uses quality paint and never leaves you with runs or thin spots. Our high expectations for quality are part of every phase of work.

Tile and Flooring:

Now we are ready to start laying down tile for bathrooms and kitchens, if carpet is being used that will be one of the last steps in the renovation. If hardwood flooring is being installed we would install that now too. Depending on the size of the job will determine how long it will take. Expect minimum of three days on small jobs due to drying time between steps.

Delivery of Cabinets and Appliances:

The day before, or the day of the installation, we will deliver your new cabinets and appliances. Please have a designated area ready to receive them—usually the garage or other protected area.

Installation of Cabinets:

Installation will usually take from one to five days depending upon the size of your kitchen or bath.

Walk through inspection:

Soon after installation, your project leader will schedule an appointment with you to review the installation and make note of any work that needs completion.

Counter top and templating and installation:

After the cabinets are in place, the counter top fabricators will come to your house to measure and prepare templates. They will then cut the counter tops accordingly and install them about 5-10 working days later.

Plumbing and Electrical fixtures:

Next step is the installation of the plumbing fixtures and electrical additions to your space. The “trim out” will be inspected if needed.

Appliance installation:

Appliances will be installed (whether by us or your source) after the countertops are installed.
